"Making a positive difference in the lives of persons affected by medical condition known as Cerebral Palsy (CP)"
WHAT IS CEREBRAL PALSY?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) refers to a group of permanent movement disorders which can affect muscle tone and motor skills. It is caused by the abnormal development of or damage to the parts of the brain responsible for movement, balance and posture. There are an estimated 17 million people across the world living with CP and a further 350 million persons who are closely connected to these individuals. The figures for Trinidad & Tobago and even the wider Caribbean Region are unknown, in large part due to inadequate medical record-keeping.
